Shaping the future of neighborhoods, Funders’ Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities is a membership organization that provides tools and resources necessary for grant makers to make fair decisions about asset allocation. Reforming policies and practices across the nation, Funders’ Network strengthens and efficiently funds philanthropic programs that enhance sustainability, grow the economy, and develop equal social standards. Deepening funder engagement, the organization works with government influencers from the local to federal levels.
Maintaining its mission of sustainability and building strong communities, Funders’ Network recently funded the Love ‘Em and Leave ‘Em program in New Rochelle, New York. The city will be integrating its green initiative this summer to encourage homeowners and businesses to implement mulching into their landscaping routine. In an effort to reduce waste, mulching will also lessen taxes needed for leaf pickup and disposal, as well as improve soil on local properties.
